Nikkiso ACD is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as – 420 degrees Fahrenheit, the boiling point of Liquid hydrogen. For over 50 years, Nikkiso ACD has specialized in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as turbines for air separation. Nikkiso ACD has the most diversified product line in the industry covering nearly every application requiring pumps or turboexpanders.

 

This position is based at Nikkiso ACD located in Santa Ana, CA.

Job Overview

Detail-oriented Manager, Strategic Sourcing responsible for developing and implementing effective global sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services necessary for our manufacturing global operations for Nikkiso ACD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the company’s supply chain objectives and production needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure alignment of sourcing activities with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to anticipate supply challenges and opportunities.
  • Maintain and update supplier database, including performance metrics and contract details.
  • Develop and manage the sourcing budget, ensuring cost savings and value maximization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Sourcing Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry, 10+ years experienced is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in sourcing and procurement software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of marine industry regulations and compliance standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  • Experience with international sourcing and global supply chain.

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness.
  • All safety-related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director.
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by the employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Understanding and ability to safely work in a potentially explosive environment.

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.

Expected annual salary: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00.
