Job Overview

The Financial Analyst supports the corporate finance and executive management team by providing analysis, enhanced reporting capability, financial modeling, and assisting in special projects. The Financial Analyst may also assist the Financial Reporting and Consolidation Manager in supporting other functional units and financial reporting functions including the evaluation of business processes, documentation, and process improvement projects. A successful candidate should have fine-tuned written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with all Finance team leaders, Functional Unit leaders and senior executive leadership. It will frequently involve balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. Good organizational skills are key to success.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews with appropriate comparison to historical performance, plans and forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain financial models used to analyze and support strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze and interpret information to develop actionable recommendations that impact the business
  • Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation analyses.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning processes.
  • Present financial summaries and business insights to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field is required, equivalent experience may be accepted.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Power Point skills required.
  • 5 + years of experience in an analyst role or similar accounting experience is required.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted.
  • OneStream and PowerBI experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of GAAP and IFRS financial analysis experience helpful.
  • Prior manufacturing accounting experience is necessary.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Analyst.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages.
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
  • Well informed in current financial subjects, tax laws, money market, and business environments.
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
  • Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.
