Job Overview

The internal auditor & risk analyst is responsible for performing individual internal audit projects, as part of the total internal audit plan. This responsibility includes developing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed. Work performed will include coverage of functional and operating units and focusing on financial, IT and operational processes. Additionally, the internal auditor & risk analyst performs follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues. The internal auditor & risk analyst will also assist internal audit management with periodic reporting to the audit committee, development of the annual internal audit plan, and championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, analyze, and utilize high performance relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, OLAP and other proprietary software)
  • Query and mine large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examine financial data and filter for targeted information
  • Design and develop models and solutions that use predictive analytics, text analytics and cognitive computing, and big data frameworks, in order to find anomalies and hidden patterns
  • Develop dashboards to visualize and integrate data from across the globe
  • Provide input with respect to practice technology initiatives and investments
  • Engage with a team of data analytics experts, software engineers, and business analysts to develop data-driven solutions using traditional and emerging technologies to solve complex regulatory risk and AML challenges
  • Use advanced Machine Learning deployment (XGBoost, Ensemble) and GenAI approaches
  • Use industry standard tools and techniques to extract and preserve the data from various capacities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in one or more of the following majors with relevant analytics or data management focused coursework desired:
    • Technology: Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems
    • Business: Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Finance, Business Analytics
    • Math/Engineering: Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Mathematics
  • Strong academic record with extracurricular activities (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do with relevant functional units
  • Our current work environment is a hybrid approach, which means you should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required
  • Familiarity with a variety of analytics tools and programming languages such as, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle
    • Predictive Analytics/Data Mining (e.g., Python)
    • Data Visualization Tools (e.g., QlikView, Tableau, PowerBi)
    • Big Data Tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Impala, Mahout)
    • Reporting Tools (e.g., Business Objects. Reporting Services)
    • Machine Learning/Gen AI
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with clients and teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills in support of both innovative and operational enhancement opportunities
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across team members and client stakeholders
  • Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new concepts, frameworks, and emerging technologies

  • A strong understanding of Windows Based systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and data visualization platforms
  • Understanding of the data lifecycle and solutions development lifecycle in order help our clients understand their data and develop actionable solutions to manage it
  • Ability to work with and manage data sets, including extraction and merges from source systems, transformation, and provide preliminary descriptive analytics
  • Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new analytics concepts and data management frameworks

 

Expected Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year
