Job Overview

Nikkiso Fueling & Solutions division designs and constructs alternative fuel stations for fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG) and hydrogen (H2). Typical projects involve reinforced concrete mat foundations, installation of 45 ft. vertical or horizontal storage vessels, cryogenic and high pressure systems, ASME B31.3 pipe welding, process system installation, and hazardous area (CL 1 Div. 1 & 2 Group B or D) electrical work. We have an immediate need to grow our team and are looking for a QA Inspector to support our large scale commercial projects in the rapidly growing alternative fuel market. Our projects are typically design/build projects. We self-perform all engineering and specialty construction. Because we have a reputation of getting the job done, we are requested to do unique, one-of-a-kind projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Performs product/system inspections at different stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain necessary records.
  • Maintain inspection tools and working area in a clean safe and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform receiving inspection (Purchased parts), in-process inspection (both internal and external parts), and final inspection (assemblies, sub-assemblies, and/or final skids).
  • Making sure all receiving parts (both purchased and in-process) have the documentation and certifications required for the project.
  • File all incoming documents from vendors and distribute in a timely manner.
  • Keep track of all due dates of documents due back to vendors.
  • Prepare and send Document Transmittals to customers for new and revised drawings, manuals, and other documents.
  • Notify project managers about released drawings that need to be sent to the customer.
  • Complete Drawings and Parts List portion of the OMM by gathering needed drawings and LMs.
  • Assemble VDB and OMM and send to the customer via shared site and hard copy.
  • Performs administrative and clerical task when necessary.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or vocational training in mechanical inspection, manufacturing technology or related field desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated.
  • Minimum of two years' experience inspecting materials and mechanical parts used in the manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret and extract necessary information per production travelers, drawings (blue prints), procedures, specifications, and industrial standards.
  • Familiar with ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
  • Ability to set up, maintain, and use varieties of inspection hand tools (caliper, mic, bore gages, rings & plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar…etc.) is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, dynamic manufacturing, shop floor environment. Ability to work effectively with other team members is a must.
  • Working experience on several computer programs and databases (MS Office, Outlook, MRP, Engineering drawing database).
  • Willing to learn and improve inspection skills to the next level.
  • Working experience on pump, turbo expander industry and/or cryogenic industry is desirable but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations, customer service, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and self-motivated.
  • Works with limited supervision and independently in a fast-paced environment.
