Job Overview

Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The Procurement Manager ensures ultimate project profitability by performing strategic procurement activities including identifying and retaining profitable suppliers while consistently delivering excellent customer service both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, lead and execute procurement strategies
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses, improve effectiveness
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements for documentation
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
  • Travel between the Nikkiso facility locations as required
  • Develop purchasing agreements  vendors
  • Conduct performance audits of suppliers; make recommendations for corrective action to resolve issues

Qualifications

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
  • Knowledge of specific market dynamics
  • Strong negotiation and networking skills
  • Familiarity with vendor management software
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Strategic sourcing experience, preferably in Engineered to Order Industry
  • Experience building and managing supplier relationships
  • Commodity & supply risk management experience
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams to drive, direct and lead company initiatives and goals

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • 7+ years’ progressively responsible relevant experience
  • Supply chain management or logistics focus with Engineered to Order products is preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience
