Job Overview

Working closely with management and within individual and cross-functional teams as needed, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for performing various administrative duties, basic analytical functions and basic IT support duties.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry and general maintenance of proprietary databases
  • May coordinate activities related to meetings and conferences
  • Control and maintain files as directed
  • Serve as first point of contact for IT related trouble shooting, perform diagnostic, resolve technical hardware and / or software issues. Follow up with Employees on issues and IT tickets. Provide feed back recommendations to users.
  • Keep records of problems and resolutions through ticket system.
  • Maintain technical documentation, installations of software, installation and configuration of hardware.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • 1+ years’ professional Help Desk support experience is required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook
  • MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)
  • Ability to file according to generally accepted standards and use standard office equipment (fax, scan, etc.)
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Advanced competence in general computer skills including the use of common business-oriented software, to include: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1+ years’ experience or knowledge of computer systems.
  • Previous experience with a multi-line phone system is preferred
  • Self-motivated person with a tirelessly positive perspective, excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential along with willingness to fill-in where needed within the Company
  • Able to meet multiple project deadlines and demonstrate a great attention to detail
  • Willingness to accept accountability and ownership of assignments, consistently follow up with all stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met

Work Environmental and Physical Demands:

 

  • In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls
  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates which may include week days, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply
  • Some lifting up to 40 lbs. may be required
  • Must dress appropriately for a professional office including proper footwear for work location

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
  • All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPE’s include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
