Job Overview

Reporting to the Aftermarket Services Supervisor, the AMS Engineer is responsible for assisting the AMS Sales and Project Management team on parts orders, engineering studies, service and warranty issues. This involves providing technical assistance to field service personnel during installation, commissioning, and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Modify and create 3D CAD models and drawings.
  • Create and modify Bills-of-Materials in CAD and MRP/ERP.
  • Support AMS sales and project management team with requests for spare parts and engineering studies.
  • Support field service personnel during installation, commissioning and repair providing technical assistance and provide troubleshooting guidance.
  • Work as a liaison between departments, suppliers and the customer to address project design requirements.
  • Review warranty claims and make recommendations for course of action.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Address non-conforming material (NCM) issues for AMS orders and field issues.
  • Perform engineering studies to upgrade existing projects.
  • Assist in assembly and disassembly of pumps and other systems in the field.

Qualifications

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience w/ 3D CAD software, SOLIDWORKS preferred, creating models, assemblies and drawings
  • Advanced MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge and experience in design.
  • Knowledge of industry safety requirements, familiarity with OSHA.
  • Skilled in time management, prioritizing and managing changing priorities.

Experience and Education:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Experience: 2+ years Engineering Design and/or Engineering Field Work
  • FE/EIT: Preferred

Physical Demands:

  • To perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
  • Job will generally be performed in an office/shop environment, but may require travel to the client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Candidates must be able to tolerate heights.
  • Candidates may be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between NCI facility location and client offices as required. A valid drivers license is necessary.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear in person.
