Job Overview

The Business Development Manager be responsible for identifying growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving business expansion. This role will focus on generating new leads, improving market presence, and increasing revenue through new customer acquisition, relationship management, and exploring new markets or products. Additionally, the Business Development Manager will collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and strategies.

  • Achieve results as per heat exchanger functional unit market objectives and financial targets.

  • Develop the business within your region, as per guidelines of the Functional Unit giving each Product its best chance in the market.
  • Ensure the full and detailed utilization of Salesforce (CRM) and provide updates on requested KPIs from functional unit leadership.
  • Nurture and strengthen customer relationship and loyalty.
  • Report all market information related to technology, economy, regulations, competition, etc.
  • Support in the management of distributors, partners, and Agents used in the assigned territory.
  • Focus on price management as a key factor to maximize profit levels, while minimizing your marketing cost.
  • Ensure that you and your future team have the necessary tools to perform your job efficiently and in a professional manner.
  • Plan routine visits to all our major customers, in order to build a long term mutually beneficial relationship. 
  • Proactively identify and follow up on customer problems internally and externally, in order to ensure that all customers are satisfied with our products reliability and service support.
  • The territory will include all of North America, with additional support to other regions as necessary.
  • Worth with customers, R&D and engineering teams to develop products and services the market calls for.
  • Work with Nikkiso marketing team to develop and execute local marketing strategies

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no immediate direct supervisory responsibilities but will serve as a mentor to others in both the Business Development and Sales teams. With future growth, this role will be responsible for building a team with direct reports.

Qualifications

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office and an industrial manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, filing cabinets, etc… as well as exposure to small to large scale manufacturing equipment within the facility. The role will not be expected to operate manufacturing machinery. Additional hours may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays.

 

Physical Demands

The employee must be able to sit, stand, or work at the computer for prolonged periods. The position supports operations in the manufacturing facility, which requires being on the shop floor for extended periods of time. Safety equipment must be utilized as specified to enter production areas. May be subject to hot and cold environments, loud noise, and typical manufacturing exposures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. This role may require international travel to a customer’s office or site, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply. Candidates will be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the Nikkiso facilities and client sites/offices as required. A valid driver’s license is necessary.

 

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience of sales and/or business development within the oil & gas, cryogenic and / or process equipment industry is required.
  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Business with relevant work experience, Master’s Degree in same field is highly preferred
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment is strongly preferred
  • Equivalent combination of experience and skills may be considered.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards of excellence
  • Extensive experience in both an engineered and high-volume sales role
  • Exceptional problem solving, negotiating, time management, and general management skills
  • Ability to implement, grow and motivate a result driven team of sales professionals

Annual Salary: $116,884 -$173,801 per year
