Job Overview

Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager is an integral part of the finance and accounting team with a wide range of responsibilities related to accounting, reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls in an international environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Assist NCS Controller, North America (Controller) to manage all accounting and finance activities for NCS entities in North America comprising CSC and CAN.
  • Assist with the month-end closing tasks, general ledger accounting, including the reconciliation of Inter-company balances; review and analyze the entries to ensure the quality of data, and submit to the Controller.
  • Prepare and submit the data into the OneStream consolidation program for NCS North America Canada entity and act as a backup for CSC.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register in each service center, in accordance with policies established by corporate finance.
  • Assist NCS Controller to prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, working with the Departmental, Product and Sales Managers in North America on data analysis and collection.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis as required by the Controller and their superiors.
  • Manage AP, prepare cash payment forecasts.
  • Manage and monitor sales tax and property tax in each service center.
  • Manage the reporting and filing of local state and city filings.
  • Assist the Controller with Inventory management; analyze costs and upload new standard costs into MAS 500. Ensure that the amount reported in COGS is reasonable
  • Assist the Controller to ensure that Variances in COGS are at or below 2% of Revenue
  • Work with the internal and external auditors to provide the required data and explanation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and JSOX internal control requirements.
  • Assist the Controller to prepare the monthly financial reports required by Nikkiso and various ad-hoc requests.
  • Other tasks as required by the Controller and management team.
  • Support QMS requirements in areas of responsibility for conformance with international requirements and state and federal regulations.

 

Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Familiarity with the use of MAS 500 ERP system to conduct research and analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make involved and varied arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to tabulate statistical data and compile necessary reports.
  • Microsoft Office skills with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and some knowledge of MS PowerPoint
  • Communication skills – verbal, listening, written, presentation.
  • Relationship building skills - throughout the company globally at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling multiple high-priority projects with accuracy.
  • Ability to deliver quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment with 2+ years business experience in costing and financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience and familiarity with clean energy businesses and after-market business including spares, exchanges, repairs and field service is a plus.
  • Accounting background and experience, preferably with full-cycle accounting
  • Exposure to international financial accounting is highly desirable

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.
  • Lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets.
  • This role will generally be performed in an office environment but will require travel to other offices or production facilities.
  • Conditions may vary at each location however they are essentially the same as listed.
  • Additional hours may be necessary as the workload dictates. This could include weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

 

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • Complete safety training requirements
  • Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager.
  • Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed.

Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
