Job Overview

The Accountant II position must have extensive knowledge of accounting and economic principles. Must be analytical, accurate, and has the ability to communicate in writing and verbally to all levels of management. In addition, be able to perform general accounting functions within the company ERP System, such as adjusting journal entries, accounts receivable invoicing, accounts payable vouchers, assist with percentage of completion calculation, and completing the general ledger closing cycle. Assist with outside audits, JSOX, and internal audit PBC Schedules. Will need to complete ADHOC projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end and year-end full-cycle accounting close process.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and analyze the Financials, which includes investigating discrepancies.
  • Performs bank reconciliation monthly, verifies all deposits, and addresses questions and problems from banking institutions.
  • Perform all functions relating to Accounts Receivable such as receiving and posting cash and collection on outstanding accounts.
  • Manage all aspects of customer invoicing including billings, collections, posting payments, investigating disputes and charge backs settlements.
  • Maintains accounting records for fixed assets.
  • Assists external and internal auditors with quarterly and year-end audit by preparing schedules, invoices, providing explanation of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
  • Performs accounts payable duties such as verifying all invoices for payment, ensuring expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts.
  • Prepares state sales and use tax reports.
  • Maintains records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material. Updates records as necessary.
  • Analysis of POC inputs (costs), outputs (revenues) and Gross Margins.
  • Supporting the project team by analyzing vendors % of completion for POC (ASC 606).
  • Leading J-SOX compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers (PM’s), procurement, and engineering to develop and maintain monthly project cost forecasts.
  • Identify and document claims to customers on behalf of project managers due to delays or scope changes. Create tracking mechanisms or tools.

 

Qualifications

  • Accounting background and experience required, preferably with full cycle accounting.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required.
  • Experience with J-SOX and SOX internal control compliance preferred. 
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Has the ability to handle multiple high priority projects with accuracy
  • Familiarity with the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Delivers quality results in a deadline driven environment
  • Able to tabulate statistical data and compile necessary reports
  • Cost forecasting and scheduling experience or exposure
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to apply accounting principles to the maintenance of all Accounts and Finance records
  • Ability to make involved and varied arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately
  • Able to tabulate statistical data and compile necessary reports
  • Able to work with all NCI departments with professionalism

 Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel is necessary
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment with
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
  • Exposure to international financial accounting and multi-currency reporting is highly desirable

 Work Environmental and Physical Demands:

  • To perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload’s dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. may be required.

Environmental Safety Requirements

  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
  • All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employee’s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPE’s include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
